The gardening club has had its busiest month. Two hundred apples from the orchard are wrapped and stored, the last dahlias are on the dining tables, and Reg has planted the spring bulbs he swears will be better than last year’s. The first fire of the season went on in the drawing room on Thursday, which means crumpets at tea for the next five months.
